About Pali Ka'aihue

Pali T.W. Ka`aihue was born and raised here in the islands. He graduated from Maryknoll High School, and took to music throughout high school. Prior to heading into college, Pali spent a number of years in Japan touring and doing studio recording work in Nagoya.

While performing in Japan, Pali took first place a in a number of guitar contests at the age of 19. Aside from being proficient in drums, piano, bass and guitar, Pali's knack for songwriting resulted in a number one spot for an original composition, 'For You.' Featured on mp3.com, the single retained first place for three weeks straight. Pali's acoustic instrumental guitar work can be heard in ABC Television's Hawaii Affiliate, KITV's 'Island Television' segments as well as 'Island Television' jingle that he'd written and recorded. In addition, Pali has also done voice work for a number of radio and TV commercials and will be composing and recording the soundtrack for a brand new TV series shooting in Hawaii.

Today, Pali Ka`aihue wears a number of hats in his professional life. Aside from being the President and Owner of LavaNet, Inc., Hawaii's largest, locally owned Internet Solutions Provider, and is the leader of the award winning Contemporary Hawaiian group, PALI. To their credit, PALI won numerous Nā Hōkū Hanohano Awards, including Island Contemporary Album of the Year, Song of the Year, and Album of the Year (2009) as well as appearing on the Grammy-nominated "Slack Key Kings Volume II" CD. Pali also received the 2009 Legacy Award's Young Entrepreneur of the Year award.

In order to help promote Hawaii's music and artists, Pali created Hawaii's first weekly streaming concert (and now television series on OC16 with Tony Solis), Pakele Live! The series won Hawaii Travel Authority's Lehua Maka Noe Award on 2007 and 2008. Pali is also an officer on various Community Boards perpetuating Hawaii's music, dance and culture.

About Sachiko Uchida Ka'aihue

Sachiko Uchida Ka'aihue is a multi-talented radio DJ / writer / translator / media coordinator currently based in Hawaii, hosting a popular FM radio show called "Colors of Hawaii" broadcasting live from the studio at Waikiki Beachwalk to people all across Japan reaching about at least 6-7 million listeners, daily, on J-wave.

Sachi was born and raised in Tokyo, Japan. Aside from being an accomplished pianist with perfect pitch, Sachi's love for music poured out into what would be her professional career. In the 12th Grade, she entered FM Yokohama's International radio DJ contest and won. Soon after, she entered and won the American Top 40 DJ contest for FM Tokyo. Radio became her career at age 19, and as her English skills excelled through dedicated study, she interviewed the likes of Johnny Gill, Mariah Carey, Jodie Foster(in NY), Backstreet Boys,'N Sync, Duran Duran, Beyonce, Leonardo DiCaprio, Hillary Duff, Cheap Trick and numerous other celebrity bands, artists and actors. Sachi also translated a number of popular manga (comics) for the US market as well as doing the translation work for Gainax Studio's Neon Genesis Evangelion DVD releases.

Sachi's music ability enabled her to compose songs for a number of high profile movies and soundtracks. Two of her original compositions, "Real Emotion" and "1000 Words" were both English songs for the Final Fantasy XII video game/movie.

She also wrote "Twinkle" for Japanese Pop Artist Kumi Koda for the blockbuster "Cutie Honey" live action movie.

In addition to her radio show and ongoing translation work, Sachi does freelance writing for magazines such as Japan Vogue, Glitter Magazine and a number of Japanese, Hawaii-oriented magazines. In 2007, Sachi completed her first book, "Niji iro Hawaii no Loco Asobi" based on her "Colors of Hawaii" show. The book is one of the top travel books about Hawaii.
